Rules

Approved companies should follow these rules when transporting and dumping sanitary sewage:

  • The station will accept waste during normal business hours. These hours are: Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break for the station technician. These hours are effective January 1, 2025.
  • The station will be closed on all official City holidays and for operational shutdown emergencies. Haulers will be notified of closures and shutdown periods.
  • The service area for septic tank and portable toilet wastes includes all of Richland and Lexington Counties.
  • Industrial waste will be accepted only with prior written approval.
  • Discharge fees and pH adjustment charges shall be in accordance with the City of Columbia Code of Ordinances, Article V, Chapter 23, Section 23-150, Discharge of Hauled Waste and any amendments thereto.
  • The discharge must conform to all requirements and limitations set forth in the City of Columbia Code of Ordinances, Article IV, Chapter 23, Wastewater Services and any amendments thereto.

Fees

  • Discharge fees and pH adjustment charges will be invoiced monthly and are payable upon receipt. The City reserves the right to discontinue service for non-payment of invoices.
