Columbia, SC – April 19, 2017 – City of Columbia water customers on Broad River Road between Ministry Drive and North Woodrow Street will experience a water service disruption on Thursday, April 20th. The outage will start at 8 AM and is expected to last into the evening.
A contractor will be making an emergency repair of a 16” water main serving the area. A temporary repair that was installed on Monday will be replaced by a permanent repair. Crews will work until the final repair is complete.
A Boil Water Advisory will be issued once the line is back in service. The boil water advisory will be lifted as soon as the City confirms the repair is clean.
Approximately 60 customers in the area will be affected by the outage and anticipated Boil Water Advisory. The City and its contractor are in the process of notifying them directly.
